Blue blood fans – don’t give up hope just yet.
At a June 4 Paramount shareholder meeting, co-CEO Brian Robbins announced that “new franchise expansions are coming” for several Paramount television shows, including Blue blood.
News of potential “expansions” for the long-running CBS series, led by Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan and Will Estes, comes six months after the network announced that season 14 would be its last.
In a press release, the presidents of CBS Entertainment and CBS Studios called the series “a beloved part of CBS’ legacy” while revealing that the current season, the first part of which aired this winter, will be the “final chapter”.
“We will be forever grateful to the legendary Leonard Goldberg for developing this iconic series and to the incredible cast led by Tom Selleck, who America welcomed like family and watched as welcome guests at the dinner table by Reagan.”

In a statement, Selleck, 79, who played family patriarch Frank Regan throughout the series, called it “an honor and privilege to work on a series that not only celebrates men and women who protect and serve in New York, but also showed the importance of family.
“Working alongside these incredible cast, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I am grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.”
Reports surfaced last year that the cast had taken a pay cut for the 14th season, and Wahlberg told that “loyal fans of the show would be very, very outraged” if there was no had not had a renewal.
