As Gladiators returns to screens on Saturday, viewers will be keen to know just who it is introducing us to the new contestants.
Actor Barney Walsh will join his famous dad – and beloved The Chase host – Bradley as the favourite 90s gameshow makes its dramatic return on Saturday, January 13.
Gladiators originally ran from 1992 for eight seasons until ITV scrapped it in 2000. It used to be hosted by Ulrika Johnson, John Fashanu and Jeremy Guscott. In 2008, it was revived by Sky with Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallagher at the helm, before they were replaced by Caroline Flack. It was cancelled but from Saturday viewers can see it back in action on the BBC.

Filming took place at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, and in the lead-up to the show this week, the Gladiators left passengers in shock at Sheffield train station when they waved off trains, carried passengers’ bags, helped people on and off carriages and even checked tickets.
But just who will help us get to know the Gladiators? Of course, Bradley has been the host of The Chase for years, and was loved for his role as Danny Baldwin on Coronation Street. Bradley will be joined by his son Barney, in his first proper hosting role.
Barney has appeared in roles in TV shows such as Death in Paradise, Doctors, Casualty and Law & Order UK. You might know him from the hit ITV series Bradley Walsh and Son: Breaking Dad which sees him lug Bradley across the world, getting him to take on crazy challenges such as skydiving and horse riding to get him out of his comfort zone.
Barney has also taken part in All Star Musical. The 25-year-old is keen to keep his love life out of the spotlight, even when he’s in it, but has been known to date a former Miss World Champion. It was revealed he was dating Stephanie Del Valle Diaz, a musician and model who was crowned Miss World in 2016.

It is believed Barney met Stephanie as they took part in charity events as part of the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose initiative. They were pictured alongside Bradley and his wife Donna at the BAFTA TV Awards in 2019.
