Danny Dyer may have played a family man on EastEnders, but according to reports from behind the scenes, he had ‘secret feuds’ on set with his co-stars Jessie Wallance and Steve McFadden.
Danny, 46, who is returning to Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday, 7 June at 10.10pm on Channel 4, tried his best to remain tight-lipped about his colleagues while speaking about leaving EastEnders on the Jonathon Ross show last year, but couldn’t avoid a few hints.
When Jonathan asked: “Who will you miss the least?” Danny replied: “There’s a few of them actually, I ain’t going to lie. I won’t say [who] you know. Most of them I love dearly. Not all.”
He wouldn’t name names directly, but people claim he was talking about Jessie Wallace and Steve McFadden, who play Kat Slater and the indomitable Phil Mitchell on the long-running BBC soap opera.
According to The Mirror, a source told the publication there was “a lot of tension” between Danny and Jessie.
The said: “Once, Danny even got himself into hot water when he was overheard saying he ‘hated’ her at an event. Anyone who worked with them both will be clear he had her in mind when he made his recent remarks.”
A source also told The Sun that Danny’s feud with Steve was “an open secret.”
Danny returns to Celebrity Gogglebox with his daughter, and Love Island breakout star, Dani Dyer.

Danny and Dani first took part in Gogglebox as part of its 2018 Gogglebox Stand Up To Cancer special, which some viewers hailed as the ‘best episode ever.’
In the 2018 special the Dyers watched University Challenge, and had the audience in stitches as they tried to guess the answers.
Danny seemingly made enough mean comments about the contestants to launch yet another feud, but he changed his mind about them after he got two correct answers himself, saying: “I got two right – sometimes I frighten myself with the knowledge I’ve got… I’ve just proved it.”
Dani, 27, who rose to fame after winning Love Island alongside her now ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, took a break from the spotlight to focus on raising her three children, but she is ready to be on TV again alongside her dad on their sofa.
Viewers are keen to find out if Dani will be joined on the sofa by her fiance, Jarrod Bowen, and her son, Santiago, and baby twin daughters, Summer and Star.
The Dyers will be sharing their Channel 4 spotlight with fellow Celebrity Goggleboxers including Scary Spice herself, Mel B, and her 25-year old daughter Phoenix Chi, Martin and Roman Kemp, Fearne Cotton and Gok Wan, Claire Balding, Gyles Brandreth, and fan favourite, Rylan. As well as many other new and returning faces.
Producers are also thrilled that EastEnders star Bobby Brazier is returning with his dad, Jeff Brazier, and will also be joined by his younger brother Freddie.
