Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) were given devastating news this week in EastEnders.
The couple have been trying to conceive through IVF. A few weeks ago, Sonia announced some hugely positive news to Reiss and confirmed that she is pregnant but sadly, that wasn’t true.
When Sonia started bleeding, she and Reiss made their way to hospital. There, the doctor revealed that Sonia had a blighted ovum which means she was never actually pregnant.
In the aftermath, things are tense at Number 25 as Reiss tries to support Sonia, under the disapproving glare of Bianca (Patsy Palmer).
When Sonia then reveals she wants to try IVF again, Reiss agrees, but is then left worried when he realises they need more money.
Turning to Jay (Jamie Borthwick), Reiss asks him if he’d like to buy his car, but he says no.
Becoming desperate for cash, Reiss tells Kat (Jessie Wallace) that she failed to pay her February tax bill, thinking he’ll get money that way, but soon regrets his idea.
