Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) leveled with Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) son Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) he’s been involved in Victor’s chess moves, but never checkmate. This is true. Michael Baldwin is Victor Newman’s most loyal-long-term pawn in Victor’s real-life game of Chess.

Has the demand for an attorney really decreased so much that Michael Baldwin has to be on-call to do Victor Newman’s dirty work 24/7/365 & if he doesn’t show up there is hell to pay? How does the most fabulous Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) put up with this? Lauren has ties to The Mustache as well but he only considers those ties when there are possible serious repercussions for him.

Lauren Fenmore’s Other Friend Jack Abbott on Y&R

Perhaps Michael Baldwin is keeping his space from his wife Lauren as his latest assignment involves another good friend of hers, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) & her sister Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). Michael loves Lauren. How would it be possible for him to look into her eyes & assure her nothing below is going on with Victor Newman’s latest assignment? Seriously, doesn’t Lauren Fenmore deserve more respect? Most recently, she covered for Victor’s wife Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as CEO of Newman Media after Nikki fell off the wagon & needed some time to get back on.

Lauren’s company, Fenmore’s, has a relationship with Jabot. Victor is doing everything to take down Jack Abbott via taking down Jabot. Has Lauren’s husband Michael not considered that taking down Jack Abbott may take down his wife’s career? Michael Baldwin heard it from The Mustache’s mouth. Victor Newman is also working on taking down Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) which means taking down another “good friend” of Victor’s Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). Jill Abbott is also Lauren Fenmore’s sister. How dare Victor Newman mess with another one of his “good friends” & his on-call attorney’s wife? You know what will hit the fan once Lauren Fenmore learns Victor has been conspiring with her husband’s assistance in a hotel takeover of Chancellor Industries. Wouldn’t it save Michael Baldwin time to just ask for a divorce from Lauren if that is what he’s going for?

Michael Baldwin’s Next Assignment: Defending Sharon

The sudden death of Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) in Genoa City means lawyers will be needed again on Young & the Restless. No doubt Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will be back in short order to defend Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) or to prosecute Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) depending on how the reinstated lead detective of the GCPD, Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) shakes out. Conveniently for Sharon, her last name is Newman again. Ergo, she falls underneath the Newman umbrella to be represented when needed by Victor Newman’s on-call attorney, Michael Baldwin. Like Victor with Chess, Michael Baldwin does not lose in the courtroom. The Bug will be squashed again but at what cost?
