Bobby Brazier has revealed the sad reason he wanted to be booted off Strictly Come Dancing.
The EastEnders actor, 21, made it to the final of the star-studded show with his professional partner, Dianne Buswell, last year. However, Bobby, who is the son of late Big Brother star, Jade Goody, said the fame that came with the series was ‘overwhelming’.
Speaking about starring on the BBC show, which is watched by millions each week, he said: “I don’t want to be famous. Maybe I did when I was younger, but now I just want to act,” he revealed in an interview alongside his dad, Jeff Brazier.

“I went on Strictly because dancing makes me happy,” he continued. “The more I learn about fame, the less I’m interested in it. There were a couple of weeks during Strictly when it got too much. I only felt peace when I came home to be with Freddie, Dad and Kate, my stepmum. I wanted to get voted off,” reports The Times.
While Bobby stressed that he ‘loves his job’, he predicts he will take a break from the entertainment industry in the future. He explained: “Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. I love being on EastEnders and I love modelling But I’ll probably take a break at some point. Just travel, get inspired, meet new people. Dad will understand. Who knows, he might come with me.”
During his time on Strictly, Bobby amassed a legion of loyal fans with his dapper dance moves and close bond with Dianne. However, it was his tearjerking routine to “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell, which was dedicated to his late mum, Jade Goody, who died in 2009 from cervical cancer, which really brought the house down.

His dad Jeff, who was regularly spotted in the Strictly audience, wrote on Instagram after the performance: “To share your grief even to just one person can be a daunting prospect but to express it so movingly in front of millions takes incredible courage, so thank you for your inspiration @bobbybrazier!”
it’s been claimed that Jeff, Bobby and Freddie are set to appear on Celebrity Gogglebox, after appearing on a one-off special of the programme for Channel 4’s Stand Up 2 Cancer last year.
A source told The Sun: “Producers are delighted that Freddie wants to join them. The trio have great banter and it will be great to treat Bobby’s huge fanbase to his rapport with Freddie.
“He has really propelled his family to stardom since coming runner-up on Strictly.Jeff adores working with his sons and the brothers are really close, so it could lead to more projects together.”
It was also recently announced that Bobby has also been cast in the Paramount Plus drama Curfew alongside EastEnders legends – Anita Dobson, Lucy Benjamin and Larry Lamb. Curfew, which began filming at the beginning of this year, is an adaptation of Jayne Cowie’s novel, After Dark.
