Bradley Walsh, the host of Gladiators, has built up an impressive fortune over his 30-year TV career.
The popular presenter, who grew up in a council house, is back on our screens tonight
with the BBC’s reboot of the classic ’90s show Gladiators. He’s joined by his son,
Barney Walsh, who also starred in their hit travel series, Bradley Walsh and Son: Breaking Dad.
Barney has been following his dad’s footsteps into TV for a few years now, even landing a role in Casualty last year. But Bradley’s career hasn’t always been on screen.
The 63 year old started as a professional footballer before swapping the pitch for the sets of Coronation Street and Doctor Who. He’s since hosted several big TV shows, all with the support of his wife, who’s had a glamorous career of her own.

Born in Watford, Bradley is thought to be worth around £18.6 million, making him the ‘richest UK solo TV host’. The Sun reported in July that Bradley earned £3.5million last year alone, according to figures from his company, WingIt Productions.
A TV insider shared with the publication: “Bradley really is at the top of his game right now and is raking it in. He’s firmly established himself at the top of his profession and is the go-to man for both the BBC and ITV. And that shows no signs of slowing down either, as viewers can’t get enough of him.”
Bradley hasn’t always had it easy though. In a 2012 chat with The Telegraph, he shared that he “grew up in a council house” and said: “My mother was a single parent, who had to struggle hard to make ends meet. At one point she was holding down three different jobs. It was a happy childhood, but we certainly didn’t have a great deal of money.”
When he’s not on our screens, Bradley enjoys a happy marriage with dancer and choreographer Donna Derby, who you might recognise from Robert Palmer’s iconic music video, Simply Irresistible. Speaking about Donna in the past, he told the Mirror: “I wouldn’t swap my missus for the world. Donna isn’t just beautiful, she’s the most fantastic wife and mother. It’s because of her I signed with Coronation Street. She’s the one who recognised what it could do for me, even though it would mean being apart.”
