Casualty star opens up over horrifying sexual assault – ‘It’s irreversibly changed something’

Milo Clarke joined the cast ofCasualty back in 2021, taking on the role of paramedic Teddy. He quickly won over the hearts of viewers and has become an integral part of the Casualty emergency team, led by his auntie Jan Jenning (Diane Botcher).

In recent months, Milo, 27, has taken on his most difficult storyline to date, with Teddy having been sexually assaulted in his ambulance by a hen party. He’s struggled to come to terms with the what happened to him, even more so after a video of the incident went viral.
Manchester-born Milo has opened up about how he feels a “huge responsibility” as the person at the centre of the storyline, which seeks to raise awareness of male sexual assault by women.

“In terms of emotional responsibility, this is my biggest challenge because of the importance of it. It’s been quite daunting, but I feel proud that they trust me enough to handle a sensitive story like this,” the 27 year old actor told TV Times.

He shared his hopes that the storyline will “open up a conversation” for those who have been through similar experiences, with the aim of removing “stigma” surrounding male sexual assault. Milo hopes to encourage people to “open up” – something which Teddy struggled with.

However, Teddy is set to open up about what he’s been through after his anger and confusion interferes with his work at the hospital. Having been letting out his emotions at a local fight club, Teddy’s rage reaches its peak in an episode titled Siege Mentality – which airs on Saturday, 25 May.

His career is left severely impacted when he punches Tyler Winterson (Robin Berry), who is visiting a hospital patient, resulting in him being suspended pending a full investigation. This leaves him devastated, as his job is “everything” to him, actor Milo noted.

He added that Teddy “realises that big decisions need to be made” prompting things to “happen”, as he becomes aware his job is hanging in the balance. The actor teased what’s to come in the storyline, and it seems Teddy will soon confide in those around him.

Milo added: “I can tell you that he eventually opens up and there’s a shift where he forces himself into a space of trying to put it behind him, as much as he can. But it’s definitely irreversible and irrevocably changed something within him.”
