The central plot of the fifth season of the series “Virgin River” revolves around Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson)’s desire to start a family. However, in the first wave of episodes, the character suffers a miscarriage, causing great suffering to the couple.
As the hit Netflix series is based on a book saga, many fans started to wonder: after all, will Mel and Jack really be able to form a family? And when does this happen?
Children of Mel and Jack in “Virgin River”
The story of “Virgin River” is based on a 22-book series written by Robyn Carr. To the delight of fans who support Mel and Jack, we know that, throughout the literary saga, the couple has two children, named David and Emma.
Mel and Jack have David, the firstborn, in the second book of the series, “A Haven in the Mountains”, while Emma, the youngest, arrives in the fifth volume, “Entrance to a Second Chance”.
In the adaptation of “Virgin River” for the screen, after suffering a miscarriage, Mel reveals to Jack that she no longer wants to try to get pregnant. He then tells his beloved that “there are other ways to have a family”, making it clear that he accepts thinking about other possibilities of having a child.
Therefore, it is quite likely that the sixth season of the show will return to the subject and, who knows, even introduce the public to one or two children that the couple has in the books.
The fifth season of “Virgin River” will also have two special year-end episodes that premiere on November 30th.
