EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has explained Suki Panesar’s injury, after actor Balvinder Sopal was spotted on crutches.
Sopal, who has played Suki since 2020, appeared on crutches at the 70th British Academy Television Awards earlier this month (May 12), with the star also wearing a protective boot as she recovered from an unspecified injury.
This detail has now been written into the BBC soap, with tonight’s (May 27) episode beginning with Suki being spotted on crutches. As she spoke with Eve, it was revealed that Suki had injured herself while at a concert.

Eve, who branded her partner “hop-along”, took great pleasure in gently goading Suki, who quipped: “It’s not a proper mosh pit unless somebody ends up on crutches and you know it.”
The light-heartedness didn’t last long, however, with ex-husband Nish returning after a spell away from Albert Square.
He arrived to hand in the confirmation that their divorce had gone through after the solicitor accidentally sent him both copies, but Suki knew him well enough to figure that he was back for other reasons.
Suki texted various members of her family to inform them of his return, with the group subsequently agreeing to change the locks on the doors to stop Nish from entering the house.

That wouldn’t stop Nish, however, as he attempted to play on Avani’s more forgiving nature to let him into the house. The plan worked, with Suki returning home shocked to find him sitting in the living room.
Nish attempted to apologise for his past actions, but Suki didn’t want to hear any of it as she threatened to call her sons, though this was part of Nish’s plan as he had something to tell the whole family.
As Ravi attempted to throw Nish out, he dropped a bombshell on his family as he revealed that he was dying, leaving them stunned as the credits rolled…
