Veep alum Reid Scott is on the case for Law & Order Season 23, premiering Thursday, Jan. 18 at 8/7c on NBC.
TVLine has your exclusive first look at the actor in the upcoming season of the venerated Dick Wolf procedural, which you can check out above. See below for more photos of Scott in character.
New details reveal that Scott will portray Det. Vincent Riley, who’s familiar with Lt. Kate Dixon (played by Camryn Manheim), who personally recruited him onto the squad.
Scott joins the Law & Order family after it was announced in November 2023 that Jeffrey Donovan would not be reprising his role as Det. Frank Cosgrove. (Donovan portrayed Cosgrove, an abrasive New York detective with an old-school way of thinking, for Seasons 21 and 22.)
Scott will work alongside Supergirl alum Mehcad Brooks, who was added to the Law & Order ensemble in Season 22 as Frank’s new partner Jalen Shaw.
The current cast also includes original series star Sam Waterston as esteemed DA Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal, The Path) as senior prosecutorial assistant Nathan Price and Oldelya Halevi (Good Trouble) as ADA Samantha Maroun.
Scott recently came off well-received stint as fictional late-night talk show host Gordon Ford for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s final season. His additional TV credits include American Horror Stories, The Big C, Why Women Kill, My Boys, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and American Dreams.
