The 10 Best ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episodes Ever, Ranked

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Law & Order: SVU) is one of the best shows on television.

The crime TV series, which was also the first spin-off of Law & Order, premiered back in September of 1999, and has since gone on to become the longest-running primetime U.S. live-action series in the history of TV, and the only live-action ’90s series still producing new episodes.

The show has featured actors like Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler (who left in 2011), and Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson.

The iconic opening provides the premise: “In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.”

Law & Order: SVU has been nominated for dozens of awards, and plenty of acclaim – but there are certain episodes that stand out among the rest.

We’ve gathered together the Top 10 episodes of Law & Order: SVU, based on user ratings on IMDb.
