Production of the sixth season ended up being delayed, due to a strike by writers and actors, with the recording schedule for 2023 postponed by months.

But now, as Deadline has confirmed, fans shouldn’t expect any premiere of “Virgin River” until 2024, making it the first year that the series will not release new episodes since it debuted. This interruption is, without a doubt, a big blow for fans, who have followed the series’ history with praise.

It is worth explaining that filming began in February 2024, and should continue until the end of May. Then, there will be post-production, editing, and final adjustments, which take a considerable amount of time, to the point that Netflix does not schedule any premieres for this year.
